Google or Pinterest. There’s plenty of writing prompts everywhere.

Not an app...but prayer, nature, sunsets. Inspiration is unique to each of us. And I don't force ideas. But I do like Grammarly.

I've tried Scrivener, but the learning curve was so steep that I spent more time getting around in it than writing. I'm now using the "Save the Cat" software and like it very much.

Don't miss: What dictation software/apps are you using?

Don't let an app tell you how to think..

My ideas come from my brain.

There may be apps that help you edit or organize. I believe your ideas should come from what is happening around you.

I think about science fiction that has become a reality. I look towards pain and joy and experiences that I've had.

I look at people's behaviors such as how they become obsessed or addicted. I think about how we are all different..

Thoughts of an alternate world. Thoughts about wonderful things that are designed as well as things that are destroyed by mankind.

Thinking about acceptance and what we control, and what's out of our control?

Thinking what am I trying to save and afraid to lose.

If you survived childhood, you have enough writing material for the rest of your life

None.

My ideas come from my brain. I look around and watch to see how people act. I check outside to see if the weather man was right. I look around and see how people become obsessed over the apps and see what it does to them. There may be apps that are helpful for organizing or editing.

Life is a fad. You could be sold a snake oil. Look at the 10 years and see was good for you. Then after the next 10 years, see if what you were told was true..

I look at science fiction that has become a reality. My ideas come from observing my experiences, such as pain, and joy or my own point of view.

I know ppl in this group hate chat gpt and I get it, it is pretty awful but sometimes when I'm stuck I'll ask it questions to get my mind rolling. I NEVER copy what it gives me because it's always laughable and even if it was good it would feel like cheating but sometimes it gives me ideas in the same way writing prompts do

I have Microsoft OneNote where I write 'drabbles' or 'flash-fiction', which are then used as inspiration for short stories. For my actual short stories, I write on Microsoft Word.

I smoke pot and stare out the window. Apps execute my ideas. They do not give them to me. At least I've never found an app that would do that as well as staring out the window while imbibing Grandma's favorite herbal medicine. I've had colorful Hit Men, dragons and mystery-solving talking cats come through that window. So it seems to be working.

Scrivener. I use it for everything now. My WIP, my journal, templates for work stuff...
