I've been writing since high school and I am now 33 years old
Just make sure you save them all. You could do a short story anthology. Writing is never a waste of time, whether you're published or not.
It is never too late. It says in places that if 20 hours are deliberately spent to learn a skill, you don't become a master at it but you get a good grasp on it. And Gladwell wrote in his book that you nee 10k hours to master skill. How right are any of these? Doesn't matter, because with 33 years of thinking about writing and wriring, you have a both timings under your belt and that is a headstart go get writing and do it.
I’ve been writing since I was about 12 and obviously at 12 there isn’t much I can write, but I’m 24 now, I’ve been working on a book for the last 7 years and I finally feel like I am at a place with my abilities to write the book I’ve always dreamed of.
Not publishing a book does not reflect the achievements you’ve made. Imagine how much your writing has improved in these past 10+ years.
Look at where you were, look at stories you’ve written all those years ago and what you’ve written now. A lack of physical recognition does not mean a lack of achievement. You’ve done so much. Be proud of that.
Publishing doesn’t make a difference to how far you’ve come.

Don’t be embarrassed, I began my story at 10 and I’m 35 years old. This year I’m having my book edited and then published.
Start submitting them to journals and magazines! You’ll get a bunch of rejections but eventually you’ll get a yes!
