Mom's, my kid is 3 yrs 8 months and super picky with fruits and vegetables. I used to hide them in foods and make him eat sometimes and still used to introduce  vegetables everyday but never touched anything. The moment I try to feed him and ask him to atleast taste it he would have a vomiting sensation . Recently I started giving him rewards for tasting new food. Like literally I kept a ice-cream infront of him and told him would give him if he try eating an apple and for the first time he ate half of apple. I am tempted seeing this but is it a right way? Please give me your suggestions.

I obviously doesn't make it a habit of treating him everytime he eats something but just to make him taste it for the 1st time.

Not a good idea to use food as reward.

What you're telling him is ice cream is a treat to be rewarded with after trying this icky food first.

Your putting treats up on a pedestal and whatever you're trying to get him to eat way down the chain.

Offering a safe food with anything you're eating and dropping all pressure is what's recommended by the feeding specialists in this group.

You can take a look at the guides and videos for more understanding
