What if the funniest, most ridiculous thing someone has asked or told you about your disease?
“Is your urine sweet?” Not does it smell sweet, is it sweet. Then said they heard it tastes sweet when you have diabetes…
Not me but my t1d daughter. My nanas friends keeps telling her she will out grow it and she can get away from insulin if she turns to a keto diet. My father blamed me for her diabetes. Said well Miranda you should've being feeding her healthier.
I've told you all along. (Becsuse every Friday I would treat my kids to a happy meal when we lived back in land.
Now we love on an island and no macdonalds close by -- but for real she was eating really healthy and just kept getting sicker and sicker. I hadn't been aware of the signs -- here I was pushing fresh fruit and electrolytes into her where she was "sick" and I was just causing her sugars to go higher the week before her diagnoses.
We just ignore people now.

I had an endocrinologist tell me if I lost weight I wouldn’t be type one and if I wasn’t on the bigger side I wouldn’t have had it to begin with.
I’ve also had someone tell me they didn’t want to be friends with me because they didn’t want me touching them because they didn’t wanna catch diabetes.
