I know it’s for type 2 but just curious?

I’ve been taking Mounjaro and love it! Losing weight and using no where near the insulin I used to! Dr. Had no problem prescribing it to me. My insurance won’t pay for it though since I’m type 1.

I take soliqua. I’ve definitely noticed some appetite suppression.

I did but I couldn’t get past the nausea and vomiting… it also tanked my numbers.

Yes and I was able to cut my insulin intake in half, my A1C is 5.7, I’m off my cholesterol meds and lost 35 lbs.

I take mounjaro, which is similar, and I love it. I don’t even have to take insulin. I just take my mounjaro shot once a week, I eat whatever I want, and my current A1C is 5.8. I’ve been diagnosed since 2018 and on the lowest dose of Trulicity/mounjaro since then. My endo calls it “an unusually long honeymoon phase” but I call it God’s blessing coupled with a prolonged life of my pancreatic function due to my mounjaro.

It took a couple months to get used to (it definitely made me nauseous at first) but it’s been so worth it. I didn’t need it for weight loss, so I can’t speak on that part, but I’ve heard others say it works well.

Yes, it has stabilized my blood sugars, and helped with insulin resistance, lowered my fast acting insulin amount daily down, dropped some weight…

I tried just before Covid hit. I found it wasn't a constant effect. Day one was great but by day 7, my insulin usage was way up. The increase ran up steadily over the week. I tried splitting the dose, and that helped some, but every day felt different. Not good when you want constancy. Also, it really affected my plumbing.

Three days with no bowel movement then it was major blasts for a full day. I was scared to leave the house on many days. Once the constipation lasted about a week and the resulting stool that took 30 minutes to push out and nearly made me call 911 barely fit in the toilet. Took 30 flushes to get it down the pipe. It looked like a cannon shell. And I am not being hyperbolic. That extreme irregularity also buggered up the sugars. I gave up after one prescription.

I've thought about trying to take something like that for weight loss because nothing is working. Then I read horror stories of people having surprise nocturnal diarrhea. (Yes, I know it doesn't happen to everyone, but with Celiac Disease, I don't want to open that possibility.)

When I took it it lowered the amount of insulin I had to take. I could not handle the side effects so had to go off. I did loose weight but also could barely eat and my bloodpressure lowered too much.

ITS NOT not being accepted by most insurances for type one” y doctors are fighting it because wegovy is a nation wide outage and my insurance states ozempic is only for type 2!

There are many side effects and it can attack your pancreas from what I am seeing now from other in the group so I am not too sure

I do! Combined with intermittent fasting I have lost 53 lbs since September, my Ha1c is now 5.8, and I require a lot less insulin. I have had side effects but they are manageable. Let me k on if you’ve got any questions about it. I am happy to help.
