I was wondering what everyone used for insurance for their rabbits!
Metlife is a new one that just started offering coverage, depends on the state tho. I switched from nationwide to metlife as they offer a better coverage plan for cheaper.
I just got nationwide for my buns when they were 3 months old, it's $30 per bun a month. Though they don't cover anything related to breeding and wellness stuff, I think it'll be worth it. Since I got it early with both buns healthy with no pre-existing conditions, they should be covered for most things in the future.
Exotic vets are expensive. My buns are around 5-6 months old right now.
Don't miss: I am researching bunnies prior to getting one so I kind of have an idea of what to expect!

I use nationwide but there are other options. Depending on which state you’re in, you can check with Bivvy as well. Rabbit Savior is another one but it’s not “insurance”, more of a “financial assistance” program
Yes nationwide is the only one in the US unfortunately, the quotes I received didn’t seem worth it to me but as the people above stated, read the fine print, it could always come in handy!
Nationwide is the only one that cover rabbits I believe. I had it for my rabbits but ended up dropping it because I never used it. I have used it for my dog though who is still insured. Nationwide is absolutely awesome about reimbursing for things that are covered.
My dog needed a $3200 surgery at Nationwide covered 2700 towards it, but make sure to read the final details and find out what the Is on conditions. People give it bad reviews because they don’t read what is excluded. There is a cap per condition per year on what will be covered.
I don’t know if they offer that major medical, for rabbits versus the wellness plan.
My major medical/illness coverage only and it’s about $34 a month.
Explore these too: I’m going away with my family for 4 nights and need to figure out the best way for Leo to be taken care of
