Kitchen Reno question. Changing the layout of kitchen from a L shape to island bench and back bench. Is a 1500 mm gap between benches too wide? It’s a large area, want to utilise the space.

A little bit, depends what’s on the island…

We’ve had 1000 & 1600, the 1600 was much more annoying than the 1000. Planning the next currently and settled on 1200 with a deeper island and stools.

Don't miss: I am having a brand new kitchen installed and it’s being sent to be painted this week

We usually leave 1100-1200, I think 1500 is pretty excessive

I have 1.05m and it’s perfect. It’s comfortable for two people to walk through. When your carrying heavy pans from the stove to the sink, a smaller gap is ideal. You just want to make sure you can open say a dishwasher on the island and the cabinet on the back wall at the same time.
