--PS: I ordered a 55% shade. Hopefully it will bring Temps down. I'm in zone 6, se pa and my greenhouse was 114 the other day at 10:30am.

What are you growing? I grow houseplants and used 70/80% before I replaced my greenhouses with a shade house.

Depends what you're growing and where you are, how much sun, etc. I'd say 40% is standard but I'm from the north east.

Vancouver Island, Canada: zone 8b: 40% shade cloth and BIG exhaust fan for vegetables in the summer. No shade cloth used for starting babies. They need all the sun they can get in our spring.

Suggested: Please post pics of your greenhouse inside

No shade in the spring while my seedlings are growing. But as soon as they are outside we put up 70% shade cloth, turn on the exhaust fan and oscillating fan, and prop open the door so I can comfortably work in the greenhouse in the day time.

If you live in the southern part of the USA- suggest 70% or 50-70%. Cooler climates might be able to do 30-40% .

After install 85%, light inside my greenhouse is 4000-4800Lux max which is very idea for my plant collection, it really depends on what you grow in it . If block heat is the main concern I highly recommend reflective cloth, works way better then black ones.

Explore these too: Does anyone on here use a 3 season porch as a greenhouse?
