My husband always keeps his wallet in the front pocket of his pants and he swears he would know if someone was trying to get in there. Belt bags (fanny pack) worn cross body can be unisex and appropriate for a man to wear these days.

Start with good situational awareness and avoid getting into situations where you might be a target. Keep your wallet in your front pocket and learn to touch it unobtrusively with your thumb. Wear a belt bag that hangs over your pocket.

Carry cash for the day in your shirt pocket so they don't know where your wallet is. RFID protection is completely unnecessary.

We spent 7 months in Europe and my husband kept his in pockets always. Just moved them to the front before we entered a subway and kept his hand in his front pocket when it was really busy. Which was maybe 3 times ever. No need to buy anything special.

If you’re going to be carrying a bag regardless he could just put whatever he needs out of his wallet in your purse and leave the wallet in the safe in your hotel.

I just use deep front pockets in tight fitting pants, I also have some great comfortable shorts with zippered pockets. Those zippers open from the bottom up, and pulls the pants a lot. I put about fifteen rubber bands around my wallet. IT WILL NOT SLIDE! It’s even tough for me to get it out.

Have him minimize what he carries when you aren’t moving between hotels and/or transit. This means no backpacks, camera on straps (unless photography is super important), crossbody bags (unless that’s part of your style, otherwise it screams tourist), etc.

Basically, do what he would do at home while carrying mobile phone and wallet in front pockets rather than back. This will help him stand out less, and minimize the number of things to be mindful of. I do this everywhere I travel, and have never been pickpocketed.

I use a bag designed for firearm concealed carry. Can’t cut through it, lots of pockets with zippers. It holds my wallet, iPhone, iPad, spare medical supplies, etc. it slings over my shoulder and I wear it across my chest with my hands over it. Never had an issue. Side benefit, those that know what it can be used for cast a wary eye.

If he carries it in his front pants pocket, even with a zipper, locals in Paris recommended wrapping rubber bands around the wallet to make it difficult to slide out.

I have a belt with a zipper pouch that I keep extra cash and a copy of my passport main page. And I always keep my wallet in my front pocket (for security and because it was causing nerve damage in my leg and back sitting on it for decades).

We have traveled all over Europe and my husband keeps it in his front pocket.

We have never had any issues. Fear is a good tactic to sell products. In fact the more you do the “tourist” looking thing the more you become a target.

Just be aware and be like a local.
