My current card has hardly any benefits so looking for a new main card. I use it for a lot of I line shopping and larger purchases.

Chase Sapphire for sure. There’s 2, so which ever works best for you.

Check put The Points Guy online as he covers CC as well as hotels and airlines.

Top choice Chase Sapphire Preferred, Amex Plt, Capital One Venture - those are you heavy hitters for travel cards. Check out 10x Travel or The Points Guide. Look at each benefit and see how it will work for you.

Amex Plt will limit use outside of US (hardly taken outside of US). I have all 3, but I travel that much. Each has annual fees - so that may be a deciding factor. Also, see ehat subs are being offered.

For example 90K points if you spend 3K in 3 months. Last thing look at the transfer partners for each card. If you can't transfer or reposition yourself for flights it will not be a helpful card.

Don't miss: Hoping someone can help me with an airline points/upgrade question!

Depends, there no “magic card” that works best for everyone. I personally have 26 cards for various things.

Chase Sapphire, be sure to get the preferred. The annual fee will pay for itself with the perks, like no delivery fee with Door Dash, travel insurance included, etc..

JGoot is absolutely the best site for points. With just 2 credit cards, you can do amazing things!

The AmEx everyday card has zero annual fee and you can collect points on it by shopping thru Rakuten. AmEx has a ton of airline transfer partners too. After that, get the Chase Sapphire preferred, which partners with Hyatt and includes trip cancellation insurance.

You don’t need any other cards unless you really want the airport lounge perks.

Explore these too: Is anyone familiar with and able to provide feedback on GO TO GATE?

Many people have multiple cards for different benefits but my expenses are limited to only 2 people so instead of having multiple cards and taking years to meet the benefits, I chose to use Hilton American Express and all my points go towards hotel stays.

So far I have been able to stay in London, Barcelona, and Canada with points only

My favorite card is different than the one that I (and everyone else) would recommend if it’s your first travel rewards card. If it’s your first, start with a chase sapphire.

My ‘keeper cards’ that I always use when I’m not working towards a new SUB are my AmEx gold (4x points for all grocery and restaurants) and my Capital One Venture X (for 2x points on everything else- plus lounge access). These are more points than what you earn with the chase sapphire but it’s best to start with Chase cards because of the 5/24 rule.

Chase, AMEX or Capital One all have cc that allow you to transfer points to various travel partners (ie airlines and hotels). Take a look at which of those partners you might want to use and other benefits of the card (ie trip insurance) and decide from there.
