Do people find it cheaper if you pay for the hotel and the flights separately?
I used to always do this ..years ago when luggage automatically came with a flight. But not I don't think it works out cheaper.... maybe by a few ££s but a package holiday gives peace of mind I think.
Check how much a package is and compare to booking separately, don't forget cost of transfers and baggage.
These days no.
Not worth the hassle as ota companies don't include transfers or luggage etc so your paying a fortune on top for bags.
easyJet tui jet2 are the safest bet.

I went to Morocco a month ago and booked everything separately, as in the flights and hotel, nine of us went and definatly came out cheaper then booking the package, I found when you book with the hotel directly with everything you want as in just breakfast, half board etc was alot cheaper then going through third party which I have booked and done before, they obviously charge a fee, but I guess you need to look around and see what's best, prices change everyday!
I just booked for 12 days in Mallorca for £2300 with breakfast and dinner included for August this year, 2 adults and 2 kids. I couldn’t find a similar offer as package.
Yes. One of the main reasons it's often cheaper is because you have a lot more flexibility with flights. A holiday we are currently looking at for January is over £900 cheaper booking separately than the cheapest package deal I've seen.
Not always you need to do some homework and check, sometimes is cheaper and sometimes is not. A packages usually have cheaper hotels..
Whenever I price our package holiday (easyJet holidays) flight/hotel separately are always much more expensive. I hear other ppl getting it cheaper booking separately but not my expensive. For example my most recent package hol the flights alone were just a tiny bit less than the whole package holiday!
Depends what you want, but we always tend to do things separately and go for Air BnB over hotels.
A couple of years ago, we ended up with a huge villa with its own pool and gorgeous views for 8 of us and flights - was a fraction of what it would have cost for us to book hotels etc.

Yes always cheaper and more freedom to build the holiday I want rather than being restricted to the Travel Companies choices.
Sometimes the case but iv been finding package holidays cheaper now if you include luggage and transfers.
Also if your flight is cancelled and your hotel is booked separately its a ball ache contacting and rearranging ect.

Do it all the time and always works out cheaper for us. But it’s very time consuming. Worth it at the end of the day. Again different strokes for different folk!
Our holiday this year is flights with Ryan air 9 nights 4 adults £1800. With extra cabin cases and reserved seats in august. Booked all inc 2 bed villa style accommodation in Gran Canaria direct with hotel with 20% off so £1980 and do not pay until we arrive. Will sort taxi transfers before ourselves. Could not have got it this cheap doing package. And would have had to pay all of it upfront now.
