SOMEONE TOLD ME: It's depends if they’re any existing conditions and what you want it to cover.

NOW, WHAT? I AM STUCK

Our dentist has recently gone private, it’s just cost is £49 each for a checkup, and we both need a filling which will be just over £132 for the X-ray, and filling!

Shocked to say the least!

It's disgusting what you have to pay now.

Before you can be accepted onto denplan you have to be dentally fit - so you’d have to pay to get dentally fit first.

I pay £18 a month for 2 hygienists & 2 check ups - but all x rays included. I much prefer it to the other dentist - just know it will be a lot if I need treatment. But I couldn’t get in at my dentist and was in agony.

Went private had a full clean (which the nhs one did about 2 months before but rushed it) and got given an antibiotic - all in the same day. So now I’m sticking private.

Also, check out: I'm not sure of the best way to get house insurance

I have middle, band cover. 3\4 costs up to a limit. Think it's quite high £ 750 fillings etc refunded... £20 month Simply Health. They're efficient. I found Denplan a lot dearer.

Mine covers one inspection, one clean a year. I only go once a year if no problems. Accepted with no conditions. No proof of dentally fit!!

Husband and I are with. Dentplan (both mid 60's). We pay £52 per month for 2 but that also covers us abroad, accidents etc. Only pay lab fees if crowns etc needed.

Your dentist will assess your potential needs and decide on your band of cover for denplan.

Simply health or sovereign health care offer cash back plans - these cover a multitude of things like optical, consultants, physio, dental, chiropractic, chiropodist. Worth looking into

Denplan starts at £23pm and goes to £76pm depends what you want covered and what category you fall into. You also have to be dentally fit to join.

Bupa do a smile plan which is £24.50 a month and that's 2 exams and 2 hyg visits a year. Treatment cost on top.
