In January I was paying 46.50, then they increased it to £53.50 in April 59.81 in June and this month £86.50. I was notified about the £7 increase but none of the other increases, just took it by direct debit.

I contacted them and said I was out of contract, so they would look for another deal and came back with £77.50 for 18 months, but sky can and will increase price within the contract.

I refused this and said I can get a better deal hoping he would put me through to retentions but he didn’t just said OK.

I don’t really want to leave because it’s so much hassle and can’t afford interrupted broadband as I rely on it for work.

My package is super fast broadband, basic tv package and landline, but I have to pay for any calls, never use my landline. Just wandered if anyone had been successful in getting a good deal from them.

They offer new customers really good deals but said I can’t have one of those deals because I’m an existing customer.

My sister phoned sky a couple of weeks ago as hers went up to £100+ She had a guy trying to mansplain every cost to her. She said all the good deals are only for new customers, what about the customers that have been loyal for over 20 years.

He just said it was tough luck. In the end she asked to cancel it all and put her through to cancellations and they halved her bill. She put a complaint in about the guy that she was dealing with.

How long have you been with them for?

I was going to leave a few months back but because I had been with them for 14 years I was a platinum customer and they really didn't want me to leave, My set up was exactly like yours it was going to be £92 I ended up having my sky box updated to a sky q, fibre broadband, still basic TV package on an 18month contract I now pay £60 a month,

Just be careful because they give you a couple of months free on paramount and Disney and movie channels and after the 2 months don't inform you and start charging you for the channels, I caught them before they done this and they started to charge me for the free 2 months HD TV experience, I told them I haven't even got an HD TV so I certainly wasn't going to pay £6.99 just for that.

Cancellations wasn’t having none of it, told me I could get £15 discount which would still bring me to over £50 a month, eventually he said I could keep the box at £5 a month for the pause rewind and record functions, so I’ll keep that, and see if I can get a good broadband deal in the coming months.

Can someone please explain what a fire stick is, I have heard them mentioned but have no idea what they are or how they work , it’s hard trying to keep up with technology at my age.

Mine was going up so I rang cancellations she said she would see if she could get a better price for me...it was still too high for me to afford so asked to cancel and yesterday they took full amount out.... so called them and after a long angry chat the guy needed to get his manager to listen the recordings..... apparently I didn't ask to cancel......(I know I did). Was very cross.

Don't forget to take a look at: I wondered if anyone could recommend a service other than SKY but has the same or similar benefits please?

Look online and see what they are offering.

Give them a call and ask them for a deal, they'll say x price, say we'll I seen same offer on the Web for x price and they'll check for you.

They can't check or give you the offer before you mention it.

This is what I was told to do when mine runs out in the next couple of months from someone that works for sky x

Suggested: Do sky charge you for leaving them during colling off period?

I had made up my mind to leave and when I rang to cancel they offered me a really good deal better than when I asked for a reduction - I didn’t leave but was prepared to.

Mine went up to £89 so I rang them, after a conversation and a few offers we now pay £65pm and we had a price promise for the next 18 months. She said they have new offers all the time so it's worth ringing back a couple of days or so after.

I’ve been with sky for 15+ years and I left them as they couldn’t bring the price down. I was paying £80.50 for super fast broadband and tv. I’ve went to BT for basically the same and saving over £42 a month. BT Engineer said if you don’t like BT head back to sky at end of your contact will get a better rate. She said more and more people are switching and then once BT lines/fibre is in its a lot easier to switch. Don’t get me wrong BT is NOT the same as Sky, i don’t rate it other than it’s saving me over half of what I was paying sky and I also have fire stick which I use upstairs.
