I’m curious to know what you all do? My endo told me to carbs and sugars together and then dose for it. So like if bread has 20 carbs and 10 sugars it would be 30 all together. Is that the same for everyone or do you guys just dose for carbs?

Sorry if this didn’t make much sense.

I think they mean they're added together as in if something is 20 carbs and 15 sugars, the sugars are “added together in your total carbs” so only count for carbs an not sugar. Not saying you need to add the sugars and carbs together.

I can't believe any endo would say that tbh..

Only count carbs. And don't even worry about fiber right now honestly. They sound very old school, so I would definitely look into a new endo.

No. You only look at the carb count.

They mean your current sugar levels, and then the carbs that you ate combined that or do the math equation whatever.

No, carbs include sugars so just 20.

I don’t think that’s what and endocrinologist said to do. If you think it is, You might want to let them know this is how you took it.

Following that advice can have serious consequences.

Don't miss: Hands up, who here knew that a can of full sugar Dr Pepper only has 14g of carbs in it?!

Are you sure you understood what your endo told you? The carbs in the sugar are already included in the carb count.

You only dose for the carbs. If you add the sugar and carbs together you'll overdose.

No, just dose for carbs. The sugar is already included in the carb count.

Sugars are a type of carb, and the sugars are already included in the carb count. You dose for carbs, including sugars, not carbs plus sugars.
