Am I the only person that hates the Tandem T slim pump?

I see that not everyone adopts the same theory as me.

I hate the alarms and the complete lack of options to turn them off entirely and/or adjust the volume. I understand the need for some alarms, such as a low BG (when the Dexcom is connected). But when I ‘stop insulin’ to shower or swim, the consistent loud beeping drives me nuts.

Other than that, the reservoir + infusion set connection is pretty bad. It gets caught on stuff often, and has ripped out multiple times.

One more thing, the pump is metal, I’m not sure if this is why or not, but I’ve had my pump overheat and completely stop working while on the beach.

I never had any of these issues with my Medtronic pumps. Some may think, why not switch pumps? The Dexcom connectivity outweighs the cons since phone and Dexcom connectivity is way too spotty to just trust the phone. Didn’t mean to vent, but long story short, I agree-ish! Haha

TSlim just did not work for me. Went to the Omnipod 5 and am very happy!

Hate is a very strong word for me, but I will say I used an extremely old and out of warranty animas pump for years because after I upgraded to tslim it was awful.

My animas bit the dust and forced me to go back to tslim for 6 months until my warranty expired. Worst 6 months ever!

I love my tslim. A1C and daily averages are the best they’ve ever been. Hope you find a way to make it work or can get another brand soon. Hated medtronic highly advise against that one.

I’m sorry to hear you’re unhappy with Tslim! We started on Omnipod Dash, went to Omnipod 5, and finally then switched to Tslim…. We’ve had the best control with Tandem! The control IQ is great!

We are now VERY interested in trying the iLet.

Oh, I love mine. Never had better control. I changed from Medtronic really disliked it-alarms all night long with it.

I like t-slim’s interface but dislike the cartridge and it’s slow delivery. Also dislike that the alarms can’t be fully turned to silent or off.

Unfortunately Omnipod was not for me.

I will look into the Medtronic 780, as I’ve heard good things about it but will hope to do a trial before committing one way or the other.

Don't forget to take a look at: Any tips for how to pack Dexcom and t:slim supplies for the flight?

I’ve been a longtime Medtronic user since like 02-03 and my endo finally convinced me to switch to t.slim but reading this makes me want to stay with Medtronic.

I tried switching to t-slim, but found using an unprotected needle to transfer insulin to the reservoir to be barbaric.

It would make refilling my pump at work impossible due to safety issues.

I also can't stand constant alarms. I've gone off of a pump before due to constant alarms. I couldn't make the switch. Too many things bothered me about it.

You can check also: I will be using an insulin pump for the first time, the doctor gave me these options:
