Has anybody built a second story without having to move out of the house?

We did, must admit we moved out for a few days when they knocked the second floor through for the stairs. The upstairs is easy coz it’s completely seperate until they knock down. It depends how much work they are doing downstairs.

Haven’t done it, but have only heard horror stories of those that didn’t move out. Think about your roof being ripped out and then replaced. It doesn’t usually happen like you think it will either, with delays always pretty much inevitable.
