Is there anywhere not long haul that is still hot and pools not freezing?

I've been looking at booking a holiday in the October Half Term (Scottish holidays so around 13th October) and have become a bit worried seeing people talking about pools in alot of places being freezing and with a 8 and 3 year old this worries me a little as my kids pretty much love in the pool when on holiday.

My question is... Is there anywhere not long haul that is still hot and pools not freezing?

We were in Turkey in June and it was absolutely brilliant but have heard people saying don't bother with Turkey for October as pools are freezing.

I’ve been to Turkey in early November and the pool was ice cold -- the sea was actually warmer.

Was about 25 degrees weather was fine just a tad windy but no one used the pool at all whilst we were there.

Don't miss: How do I get ABTA on flights & hotel?

Whenever we’ve gone to Turkey it’s been in the Scottish October holidays. Absolutely.. not cold. Cool, yea but it’s welcome.

We went to Ibiza last october, they were cold but weather was great so got used to it.

Hit miss with weather in Ibiza etc that time of year, sea is warmer. Some canaries hotels have heated pools x

Explore these too: Would love some help with two items for a mother/daughters trip in December

Hi, we holiday every year October, Spain, Turkey, Portugal. Pools are cool but refreshing as the weather is still very nice.

Heated pools are few and far between but do exist in the canaries.

However, you must check with the hotel the date it is heated from. Some only start heating on 1st November.

Also, check out: What do men – What kind of bag do you carry or where do you keep your wallet?

We always did Lanzarote in the Oct week but I have to say even the heated pools weren’t that warm. Did Cyprus one tear and I’d say a wee bit warmer. Kids didn’t seem to notice as much as me! I think the only truly warm water is Dubai.

Don't forget to take a look at: Does anybody know if Dubai is suitable to go to in August?

I'm in Scotland, we have been to Turkey for October break 6 times. Antalya area, always very warm and we swam in the pool and the sea. Antalya is warmer than Aegean Coast (Marmaris etc).

If you really worried choose hotel with heated pool but we never bothered.

I’ve been to Rhodes and Majorca in oct and the weather was beautiful in both but the pools were freezing. I wouldn’t go to either again in oct because of this.

I’m looking to book for oct and I need somewhere that we will use the pools, so either heated pools or somewhere still warm enough for the pools not to be ice cold!
