Do I need to purchase a barcode?

I need help. I opted to buy my own ISBN number from Bowker. Now that I purchased it and filled in the book information, I see there is also a place to "Purchase Barcode". (I thought that is what the ISBN essentially was.)

I am planning to sell through KDP and IS. Do I need to purchase a barcode or will they put one on?

When I got my cover template from IngramSpark, it generated a barcode for me. I don't think you need to buy it separately.

If you sell on Amazon you don’t need a bar code. Amazon will provide one.

Both offer a free barcode.

However, if you use the cover template generator from Ingram spark, when you provide your ISBN, they will include the barcode in the template. You can then use that same barcode for your KDP cover, as well.

I'd bet you can find a free barcode generator. I know you can generate QR codes for free. A barcode is just a format to express a small bit of data. You already bought that bit of data. Now you just need to convert it to barcode format.

You get all of that for free through KDP when you publish you don’t have to pay for it.
