Good evening great Doctors.. I had my first baby last year August and I took my Tetanus injections as instructed during that journey. I took the 3rd dose in October last year and I'm supposed to take the 4th dose in October this year, but fortunately, I took in and I'm 12weeks gone. I registered for Ante-natal, the Dr told me that I have to continue with the unfinished dose of the Tetanus injections and not to start afresh.
Please Dr, is it right?
Is the Tetanus injections taken once in a lifetime? Or do I have to start afresh as a result of the new pregnancy?
Please pardon my curiosity...I just want to be enlightened and sure...

You will take a 4th dose during this pregnancy from the second trimester.
Then the last dose a YEAR AFTER or NEXT PREGNANCY.
The tetanus toxoid doses can be yearly or WITH EACH SUBSEQUENT PREGNANCY.
