Has anyone gone and just lacquered the floorboards with these marks?

Floorboard advice pls.

The previous owners put tile over the floorboards and I’ve been told by the builders that the floor board guy recommends spending extra on getting it all stained to hide the trowel marks.

Has anyone gone and just lacquered the floorboards with these marks? I’m looking to see if it would be okay without staining. I’m really hoping to keep the original character of the wood and also not wanting dark floorboards

Thanks in advance..

I love my dark Japanese lacquer floor boards. You can still see wood grain lovely

You'd think that sanding would fix this issue.. Have the floors the way you want it to look, not the way they want it.
