Hi everyone! This is Sister! She’s 14 years old and recently she’s started chewing, scratching and licking EXCESSIVELY. I’m talking any chance she gets, she’s going for it. She has no fleas, no ticks. She gets baths 2 times a month AT MOST.

I don’t like to bathe her often due to drying out her skin.

I’ve been spraying her with hotspot and itch relief daily, it seems to help her stop for an hour or so but doesn’t give a longer lasting fix. Any recommendations?

Thank you!

Try only bathing once a month and use tea tree shampoo and a remoisturizing conditioner.

Dogs should only be bathed every 4-8wks they need those natural oils. They do sell a tea tree med spray or a aloe hydration spray next to the dog shampoos. Try putting a tiny bit of coco nut oil into her food or any fish oil or any omega 3.

Of course, check with your vet to see if it’s allergies too. Has there been a change in food? Treats? Shampoo? Did you carpet cleaner on your rugs? Grass allergies?

So many things to check off the list.

I’d talk to your vet about trying to find a cause and how to treat it.

Ask your vet about Cytopoint.
