I don’t like the new tiles in my bathrooms
Hi everyone, I just want to ask if anyone had the same experience. We are renovating our bathrooms using tradies. We went to the tiles shop and picked our own tiles. This week the tiles are up and they are different to what we ordered.
The veins are much darker and busier than what we saw at the shop.
Anyone had the same issue? What should I do here? I don’t like the new tiles in my bathrooms.

First you need to check your order number against the tile boxes.
But I’d worry that even if you were given the wrong ones, the tile shop would have onus on you checking the box before install and while they’d replace if they were still boxed, it would be a battle and a half to have that honoured when they’re on your walls.

Your lighting looks more yellow than the showrooms. Try changing the tone of your light globe to a white. It can make a big difference to how the tiles look.
This happened to us too - just variations with batches. But don’t freak out - once our grout was done and bathroom was finished it looks so totally different!
Just keep the rest of the bathroom light.

Could be the batch and the light in the bathroom is darker too. If you don’t like them stop and take them off the walls now and start again. It’s a waste but sometimes needs be …
Even with the showroom lighting likely being much brighter, they’re definitely different to the main tiles in your picture. As the others have said, they look more like the tiles immediately to the right in the stacked showroom display.
Have you got your receipt? I would suggest visiting the store with your receipt and explaining the issue that has occurred and double checking which tile display your receipt/invoice matches up to. At best, the store will likely only refund/replace the tiles, not the labour.
There’s an onus on the customer to double check the order is correct, however, it may simply be a product number on the receipt and not a tile name, so a lay person couldn’t be expected to know. With this, explain that you pointed out the tiles you wanted to the assistant, and the error has then likely occurred on the store’s end after that.
Also, check out: Looking for great backsplash tiles – neutral but with some texture/contour as I don’t like flat tiles

They do look different. Call the Tile shop. The onus is on the customer to check the tiles, but because they are so similar I think you could argue “reasonable person” if the tile shop doesn’t come to the party.
We had the wrong tiles put down on our bathroom floor by a tiler because the manufacturer sent the wrong pallet and the project manager never checked the boxes.
We were wanting to finish the job so we said to leave them but REALLY regret the choice. Don’t leave something up that you don’t like you’ll have to look at it every day and think how much you paid for it Pop a tile off the wall and take it back to the shop with you to prove your point.
Don't forget to take a look at: My plan is to paint the back window wall and the tiles at the bottom of the wall, but the question is what colour?

I think they look great and once the bathroom is fitted out and new lighting it will look fantastic!
The lighting in the tile shop is very, very bright!

They do look different to the store photo. Is there any way you can confirm they are the same tile? Does the name on the store label match the box of tiles label?
It could be a lighting issue too. Take a tile outside in daylight and see what it looks like.

You need to get the company name & code for the tiles you thought you ordered, not the tile shop code, & compare to code on your boxes, they should be the same. If not they have supplied the wrong tiles.
This is definitely not a batch variation, if it is the correct tile it’s most likely the supplier has changed manufacturers & they can look completely different in that case.
I have worked in the tile industry for 17yrs so if you would like to send me a photo of the codes on your boxes I’ll do a bit of research for you.

Yes they do look different - and yes lighting in your bathroom will make a difference.
They are still a nice tile and once the spacers are gone, they will look a whole lot better . They may not be exactly what you wanted and If the shop won’t replace them, they are still a nice tile.

Good luck with all of this - I’d love to hear how it all works out
Tiles will be different between batch numbers. As long as the tiles they used have the same batch number.
I’m sure once you finish off your bathroom you won’t notice it as much.
