I've never booked a holiday abroad before.....please be kind.

I now know I can compare destinations and look for my own prices on travel supermarket etc, but I'm overwhelmed with where to go. I'm taking my 15yr old teenage daughter for 4 nights end of august and all she wants is to be abroad and visit a couple of bars (not to get drunk) and sunbathe. Including a nice little town but no idea where that might be? Any suggestions welcome.

I guess I'm worried I'll book a nice hotel but be in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do.

Or without seeming lazy.... let me know where I ask or find out so I can do it for myself please.

We’re in benalmadena atm and it’s great, loads of bars and restaurants and it’s normal for kids to be out late.

Take a look at some of the Greek islands. Pick a small family run hotel as they really make you feel welcome. Alykanas in Zante is lovely, or Kefalos in Kos, both small resorts with lots of lovely bars and tavernas.

I would recommend booking through jet2, EasyJet or TUI as a package if it’s your first time, then join the Facebook group for your chosen resort for some great tips!

Good luck!

I think Benalmadena would suit you nicely.

You won’t go far wrong going to any part of Majorca. Magaluf is rowdy but the rest is beautiful.

Greece would be my first choice.

The people, country and food is excellent.

The islands are generally superb with many different types of resort.

Look at EasyJet holidays, they are reasonably priced. I always look on YouTube to get a feel of the resorts. I can recommend Kos town x

Tsilivi, Zante or Pefkos, Rhodes would be perfect I've been to both by myself with my son. They are both extremely safe and the hotels are in the town with pkenty of bars. They are nice busy bars not rowdy bars with trouble.

Happy holidays..

You could use a travel agent to help you book, they don’t charge any more than what you’d book yourself online & they have experience of different places to help you out.

If you search this page there’s a list, I just book myself online but I’ve used travel agents in the past x

Majorca - Santa Ponsa

We stayed in Club Santa Ponsa All Inclusive, which is lovely. And close enough to the bars, restaurants and beach (about a 5 minute walk) x

If you are only going for 4 nights I'd suggest a shorter flight than the Greek islands, so would be looking at Malaga, or Palma De Mallorca. Both have excellent transport links from the airport to the holiday resorts.

Benalmadena as suggested would fit your criteria very nicely. It's charming with great bars and restaurants. Alicante town is nice also.

For a first holiday I’d probably suggest Spain. You really can’t go wrong with Majorca. So many nice resorts. Have a look on Trip Advisor. Search for Majorca and then the different resorts should come up and it will give you an overview of the resort and then you can look at hotels in the resort - they are rated and reviewed by holidaymakers.

Another alternative is to go to a high street travel agent and tell them what you are after and they will shortlist some options for you.
