What are the best panels to use for roofing materials for a greenhouse?
Let me take some suggestions from you experts.. What are the best panels to use for roofing materials for a greenhouse?
We have glass on sides and polycarbonate double walled on top and love it. We are in Iowa so lots of heavy snow and hot summers .
Whatever you do don’t use the pvc panels from Home Depot. I did and mine have melted. Use polycarbonate and not pvc.
I used double walled poly-acrylic, its lil more expensive but totally worth it for the strength and durablity of them,
As for composition: polycarbonate, but depending upon design, budget and whether it's going to be internally heated or passive solar, single wall polycarbonate like Suntuf are popular. Film polyethylene can be stapled on the inside to provide an insulation air space. My Dad's greenhouse has cheap acrylic panels screwed on the inside.
