So my 2 boys have eventually wore me down and it looks like we’re heading to Florida
Help, I need lots of advice and tips. They are 12 and 10. I don’t think they would be wanting to do Disney but they have said they would want to see Harry Potter, Star Wars, godzilla v kong. Water parks as well. We won’t be driving so looking for hotels perhaps close that includes shuttles to and from parks.
The grove resort includes transportation to Disney parks.
I booked through ba holidays I found they were much cheaper than other companies.
I’d personally book though say 7 days here and 4 in a universal hotel so you can make the most of getting into universal parks earlier. (As a example)
I went there June just gone and paid 3100 for 5 of us for 8 nights and booked again for Easter next year just over 4K for 10 nights this included a car hire.
Don't miss: Looking for something fun to do in July anywhere in northern Florida, Georgia, South Carolina or North Carolina

We went last year twice but didn't stay in any main hotels.. we stayed on international drive and they had shuttles all the time to all the parks or I. Trolley bus goes most places up and down too.. I only paid £1500 for 3 of ua for 2 weeks last august/September 2 weeks flights and hotel..
I would defo stay on international drive again ans save that little extra x

What research have you done? Have a look at the frugal brit on YouTube. Easy to digest videos and serve as a good basic guide of what's there. In summary:
- - It's become a massively complicated holiday and you can no longer rock up to parks. Expect to be glued to your phone for ride bookings, lunch bookings etc
- Staying off site is cheaper
- Look at the Universal Budget hotels. Dockside and Cabana Bay.
- Disney tickets are now £500 per person and that excludes Genie Plus.
- Villas are plentiful, but if you don't want to drive, I think that rules them out
- Book flights as soon as they become available
- Have a look at staying on International Drive if you want to save some cash.
Would recommend a split stay on site for both. We did 10 days at Disney and then a week at universal and that still wasn’t enough time!
We stayed at a top tier universal hotel. Those all include transport (boat!) And fast passes to the attractions.
All the universal hotels, many of which are more affordable, include transport but not fast passes.
Also, check out: How can I go to Florida on a budget?

We are DVC members (love Disney!) Disney own Star Wars rights and Universal own HP rights.
I recommend doing a split stay. If you book at premier hotel at Universal, your express passes are included. It can save a lot of money.
You can book 1 day park tickets from Undercover Tourist if you don’t fancy doing Disney more than once but once you get to the 3 day tickets, you are better off buying the UK 14 day ticket as the cost is pretty much the same.

My top advice would be to go to one of the water parks on your last day, that way you can shower and be fresh for the flight home.
If you have a hire car you can avoid the parking charges by parking in the multistorey in downtown Disney and then getting a free Disney but to one of the hotels and transfer to the park you want for free.
At least this could be done in 2018 when we visited last.
Or if staying off site we got an Uber to the nearest park to keep the cost down and then used the free shuttles from there and like wise on the way home, free shuttle the stop nearest your accommodation and then Uber from there.
Don't forget to take a look at: When you fly as a family of 4 in 3-3-3 configuration seating (TUI Dreamliner) how do people find it best to book seats?

They'll absolutely want to go to Hollywood studios at Disney - Star Wars Land is there and it's epic.
Don't miss Rise of the Resistance star wars ride! A full on 20 minute experience with storm troopers attacking you etc.
They also regularly have mini parades where storm troopers march through the streets, and the opportunity to build a light saber.
