Anyone been to Bulgaria? Thoughts please?
You know, this is not an easy decision. I want as much information and detail as possible for a calculated trip.
Like marmite some folk love it some hate it. Me personally loved it with my kids. We have been 7 times to different hotels.
I must say a few friends have been this summer and although the pics look nice of the hotels they didn’t leave them and that’s not what I would want. So basically if you do what is it like outside?
Always thought Bulgaria was a bit corrupt and poor otherwise but I’m sure they have some lovely scenic places on the Black Sea.
Don't miss: Looking for peoples reviews and thoughts on Bulgaria! Any hotel recommendations?

I didn't like it went to sunny Beach wouldn't go back. There were some nice things like the restaurants and the beach but found it quite seedy and unsafe.
That's just me personally I travel alot but it's not anywhere I'll rush back to.

We are here at the TUI Blue Nevis at the moment. Hotel is lovely, good food and drink and no early morning sun bed rush.
Been into Sunny Beach a couple of times, if people think all of Bulgaria is like that, then the whole of Spain must be like Benidorm and the whole of the UK must be like Blackpool. And people still choose to holiday in Benidorm. Nessebar is a short bus ride away, lovely old town, fantastic restaurants.
We preferred Turkey and Crete, but haven't disliked Bulgaria at all.

Fantastic location Can't wait to go again it'll be my fourth time. Couldn't recommend this place enough.
And for those saying it unsafe recent european statistics rate it safer than the UK and Spain with low crime and high safety.
Also, check out: Any idea whether my flights would be covered by insurance?

As a Bulgarian I would say Sunny Beach are place if you want to party all your holiday it's 24/7 music and booze there -- Nesebar is a great family destination if you go there you should visit the old town as well, it's very beautiful.
I'm bulgarian and I can say, yes, it is not everywhere safe especially Sunny beach where are all foreigners going. It is a party place with many drunk people from all around the world.
Try Nesebar it is lovely. Sozopol as well. However, there is not safety place anymore anywhere in this world. Friends of mine were robbed in Spain. So just keep your belongings with you wherever you go.
I'm now in Sozopol, Gradina beach. Next week going to Nesebar. I'm a single mum with 7 y.o. child who is ASD and if I find it safe and enjoyable everyone else can do it. Enjoy your holiday.
Don't forget to take a look at: I’m planning on coming to south east Asia in January. It sounds silly but I have a phobia of snakes
