I'm taking my 2 children to Spain in a couple of weeks without my husband as he's working. We are married and the children have my surname. Will there be any problems at passport control? Do I need a letter or anything?

I just want to make sure there aren't any problems.

I very much doubt it. My husband has taken them away without me and vice versa. Never any issues.

I took my 3 children to my parents in Spain last year for 6 weeks. I wasn’t asked or stopped at any point.

If someone with parental responsibility is not travelling with you then you need a letter from them just in case.

You probably won't be asked for it, but better to be safe than sorry.

Don't forget to take a look at: Is £1600 a good price for a week s/c in Lanzarote over October half term for myself and three children?

No, you’ll be fine. How old are your children?

I went last year for my Grandma’s funeral and my name has part of their surname. The most we had is the passport guy asked my son if I was his mum.

No you won’t need anything more than your passports.

Do you all have the same surname?

If yes you’ll be fine.

We went recently and due to having a blended family we don’t all have the same surname.

Spain was not an issue.

However getting back in the UK was like getting through.

a quiz it was ridiculous! We are all British from birth x
