Hi everyone, it's the first time I'm booking a holiday for us as a fanily! I'm so nervous! We are 2 adults, 2 children (3 and 5 years old) in Turkey. Any recommendations on hotels, flight times, what to look for? This would be for August 2024 with a budget of around £4k.

Why Turkey? They tend to have rubbish flight times and with young kids I wouldn't do a night time flight.

If you want turkey maybe not August, would be ridiculous hot. Holiday village and the tui tropical are great, very very short transfer time.

Maybe look at TUI blue hotels in Majorca, short flight times. And will be hot but not so hot to ruin a first holiday.

Don't miss: I'm really struggling to find cheap flights to Turkey in October

Basics for me are flight times and transfer times (we all have our preferences), I also look at what is around the area generally as we always hire a car for a few days to explore. Average temperatures for the time of year too.

I also look on Tripadvisor and YouTube once I’ve whittled it down to a few hotels.

I look at entertainment day & evening as we quite like things like darts/pool table/water activities/decent things to do in the evening. Jet2 & TUI are the easiest sites to navigate of the tour operations I think.
Good luck

Turkey would be really hot in August. With kids all inclusive is the best and easiest way. Think your budget would get you a week away. Make a list of a few holidays and then read reviews. You'll probably find rubbish flight times are cheaper. Turkey have a lot of long transfers to/ and from the airport.

If you're serious about Turkey I recommend the Holiday Village in Sarigerme, transfers are about half an hour. Or a longer transfer, Pegasos World is another good one.

Explore these too: We can’t decide on an all inclusive one to maybe Turkey or travel by car to France and doing Eurocamp!

We’re are in Turkey Antalya for holidays and about to leave the country (2 adults + 1 children 7 years). It’s hot but under the shade it bearable in fact I don’t used portable fan I prepared for. We stay at apartment hotel for the 1st week as we only use it for sleep only than moved to AI a week after. Konyaalti only 30 minutes transfer and Lara beach (AI hotels located) around 10 minutes without traffic.

If you choose budget airlines (Pegasus, sun express etc your can get reasonable flights time).

I’m flying with BA through Gatwick (15:40 to Antalya, 22:45 back to Gatwick). Our friends was with pegasus and Sun express (11:30 to Antalya and 17:30 back to UK).

You mentioned you know the lingo which is good, I’m using google communication most of the time when talks with locals.

Also, check out: Travelling to Turkey soon – Do they still charge entry of £10 at the airport?

Absolutely love Turkey -- just make sure you get decent flight times as they tend to be really late.

The Turkish people are brilliant and make your holiday.
