I am thinking about insuring my 3 outdoor cats. Best pet insurance and is there one that would cover/put towards their annual vaccinations?

There is no pet insurance what gives you free annual injections you would need to take out 3 separate plans out at the vets for it if you wanted too or just pay for it yearly for flea treatment advantage is good stuff on the internet.

Have a look at co op pet insurance:

• Argos.
• Agria.
• Sainsbury's.
• Tesco.

Go for the well known ones as then you won't find your self with a bill what the insurance won't pay out.

Pet insurance only covers for illness and dental injury but won't pay for clean and polish.

I pay into a pet plan with my vets practice which includes all consultations flee worn nails and vaccination. Costs me £30 a month for my dog but they do a plan for cats too.

I would urge any cat owner who lets the cats outside to get insurance as if your cat runs out into the road and a driver has an accident because of it you are liable.

Also, if they do run your cat over they can try and claim for emotional distress.

I have 4 cats I put money into a separate account for them rather than pet insurance.

I have mine with napo, they do good cover including dental.

I also pay £10 month through my vets which covers all worm/flea treatment, annual health check and jabs.

Check with your vets as ours does a healthy pet care - you pay so much per month around £10 and covers all standard jabs and annual check up and ours I think included flea treatments (can’t remember as lost our cat last year). You may get a reduction for 3 cats.

Pet insurance we use Petplan they are slightly more expensive but never had problems with any claim and paid quickly.

As mentioned insurance is generally for urgent/emergency care, any general wellbeing costs ie vaccinations, claw clipping, neutering etc is paid by you.

I just ditched my pet insurance with Admiral. Excess was £100 plus if your cat is 6 or over you pay 20% of any bill on top of the excess.

Add to that our vet Vets4pets now charge £25 admin fee for any claim they have to send an invoice. Had 2 claims recently cost £300 got back £36.

Now the payments go into a savings account. It’s a rip off.

Pets don’t need annual vaccination. Over vaccinations causes no end of problems like autoimmune diseases. I’ve only ever given my pets their first vaccinations and no more.

And before anyone says they won’t be covered by pet insurance if not vaccinated…most will still cover if not vaccinated but not for any conditions caused by not vaccinating.

I’m with Pet Plan who don’t insist on vaccinations.
