I really don't understand this and seriously want to move away from SSE/OVO

My variable DD is still £90ish per month, I'm only using about 50 of that combined, is there a way to bring it down?

Thats not a variable dd. A variable dd would be an amount which covers the bill exactly.

If it’s £90 a month combined as opposed to £90 each, that’s not too bad and you’ll be building credit now for the winter months, that will be upon us in 2-3 months time.

£50/month in summer will translate to about £200/month in winter so your DD is not unreasonable.

No other supplier will offer you anything better unless you want to run the risk of running up some debt over winter.

Don't miss: I have just moved in and it’s all electric with OVO. Are they any good?

Thing is Kirsty come the winter months that extra £40 a month over a year is only £480 - that alone covers my december month as my whole house is electric.

In October I’m sure the prices will be changing again so it could either go up or down.
