Not sure how to do a poll, so just asking here. Has anyone given a 2 year old, cakes/muffins? I mean store bought ones, so with sugar.
I have never really given my toddler added sugar like this, except a small slice of his birthday cake last month. But today I got a muffin, and offered it to him. I have never really seen him so excited about food! But I am also wondering if I have opened a Pandora's box.

My son loves carrot muffins (store bought) he is not particularly fond of other sweets.
He loves fruit but he isn’t interested in cakes or candy.
I think it just depends on your child.

We limit sugar but my daughter gets it sometimes! Her eating is always hard so I don’t feel like it makes things worse. I just treat it like any other food and offer when I’m comfortable with her eating it.
Her dad and I love to go on coffee dates and muffins are super helpful for us because we know my daughter enjoys them and so we can enjoy our date by all splitting one and she sits happily and eats! Gotta do what works for you and your family you can always look for lower sugar or homemade alternatives if it makes you more comfortable!

Yes and no for the Pandora's box. You can make them yourself with like zucchini or carrots. Or bran muffins.
All the time. My 11 month old has had so many sweets already. And still somehow prefers rice and beans.
I stressed about it so much with my first born and he became super picky either way. So I stopped worrying at all with my second. As someone above posted, food is food.
And when we restrict sweets too much it can do more harm than good unless they cannot have them for health reasons.

Cupcakes? I couldn't even get my twins to TOUCH their birthday cake or cupcakes and when we they tasted it they both turned their heads away.
