Our summers are hot! We have ample space. I'm concerned its alot of money for 5months/yr of use. Any advice on the pro's & con's greatly appreciated.

Love our pool, it was here when we bought our house. Use it constantly in summer but.... it's a lot of extra electricity and chemicals for 9 months of no use.

Get a container pool, so when you stop using it, you can sell it. Way too much work and money in my opinion.

I wouldn't be without one. This time around it is only a small pebblecrete one but big enough to sit around and cool off in.

We had the same dilemma and decided on the largest available above ground. No regrets.

Do it- best thing we did. Saving for a pool heater to get a few extra months out of it each year.

I wouldn’t be without ours now. It’s totally worth it, especially if you have kids or grandkids.

Nothing better than a quick dip to cool off on those hot days!!

Don't miss: To build a pool or not to build pool!?

Love it! First time having one and it’s the best. Water views, feels like a vacation (I have my morning coffee on the sun lounge). My kids use it pretty much year round! They’re freaks!!

I would never get a pool. Loads of maintenance, potentially dangerous for kids, costs money.

Fencing needs to be maintained to council standards.

My in-laws pool was not used most of the year. I guess it’s just personal taste.

Even when not "in use" it's a haven. It is visually a beautiful thing to see everyday that makes us happy. When heated, we get to extend its use due to warm days in the coolers months.

It's a yes from me.
