..(on the cheap) Has anyone painted the capping bricks on theirs? Ours are currently those nasty orange bricks that everyone had in the 80/90s. Was wondering what paint you would use and if the paint would come off.

Open to any other ideas too.

My son painted his niot sure if it was special paint but he mixed sand in it so it wasn’t slippery, completely changed the look of the whole pool - even the water looked a different colour. He did a soft grey it looked great.

He did say it was quite a messy job though.

Have you looked into brick staining? I just discovered it was a thing 2 days ago and I reckon it might be worth looking into!

We have the same pavers and shape but pebblecrete pool still debating what to do with it.

Concreting around outside is so expensive.

I would leave as is, I don’t mind the bricks. Just change up the garden a little… some heliconias and elephant ears would give it nice tropical look.

You can limewash them (can even just mix some white internal paint with water).

Take the edge of the orange off them and make them look a bit like reclaimed bricks.

How about a render and white paint? Plant a few large tropical plants too.

I’ve whitewashed 2 pool surrounds with a broom- let it dry a few days - you’ll love it- so easy, completely different look--normal house paint water based.

If it were me, I simply do a lime wash over them to compliment the beauty that is a pebblecrete pool. Because pebblecrete is the closest thing to the colour of sand, it throws off the most amazing ocean like hues.

By lime washing, it will give it a more natural stone like look and would be an absolute compliment to the natural feel of it!

Pebblecrete is soooo beautiful and grand looking!

Explore these too: To pool or not to pool - That is the question?

Our pool was the same, lots of gaps between the bricks after years of weather, chlorine etc. a few years ago we had someone come in and pop off the bricks and recap it in a large sandy colour, seriously looked like a brand new pool.

I would honestly just go to Bunnings and ask them - if one person doesn’t know, ask another!

Not that I’ve painted pool edging but that’s always gotten me through projects when I didn’t know what was next.

Also, check out: To build a pool or not to build pool!?

We left ours and decked around and refreshed with accessories pots and plants etc the decking merbau (composite decking ) complimented the colour of the header but also modernised it.

We just did this ourselves. I suggest painting it for sure. Cheaper than changing the shape.
