My husband and I are planning a trip to Portugal and Spain for 7-10 days sometime next year. Can anyone recommend some affordable tour packages or have any tips for traveling these areas? This will be our first time traveling to Europe.

Honestly for only 7-10 days I'd consider narrowing things down. Maybe Lisbon, Sintra, the Algarve?

I'd probably focus on just one country so you don't lose too much time to transportation.

My mom visited both countries over two months last year and I’ve been to both before, and Europe quite a bit. With 7-10, I’d probably recommend 3 destinations.

Depending on the time of year you could fly to Lisbon, base there for 3 days with a day trip to Sintra, bus or train to the Algarve and beach hop for a few days, then take a bus over to Seville and explore Andalusia for your final few days.

From there you could fly back to Lisbon for your flight home.

Just a suggestion!

Just got back from 5 days in Lisbon -- such an easy city to manage on your own. We took public transport (subway/tram/Uber) and it was easy and cheap.

We wanted to do a tour of Sintra/Cascais so we booked a great day trip through Lisbon Riders....no more than 8 to a group, and the guide was amazing. It was around $75/person.

I recommend, start your Portugal adventure in Lisbon, exploring historic neighborhoods like Alfama. Enjoy the picturesque coastal beauty of Cascais and Sintra's fairytale-like architecture.

In Spain, immerse yourselves in the vibrant culture of Barcelona, visiting iconic sites like Sagrada Familia. Meander through Madrid's museums and parks, then soak in the romance of Seville's Alcazar.

For stays, mix luxury with authenticity in boutique hotels or cozy Airbnb options. Consider using the Jetzy app for your trip! Connect with like-minded travelers, get up to 60% off on hotels, and enjoy free drinks at restaurants. It's an exclusive network, so let me know if you need the invite code.
