I am seeking advice about logistics in Paris

Hello fellow travelers.This week on my way home from Tunisia, I will have a long layover in Paris, from 3:30 in afternoon until 8:30 the next morning. I want to go into city and maybe stay night at a hostel. I am seeking advice about logistics, etc.

I don't know about a hostel, but you might be better springing for a hotel at the airport so you can drop your bags, have fun in town and not worry about missing your morning flight.

I'd do it. RER B from CDG takes you into Paris proper - (pending any strikes) you could easily see a few sights in this time.

My friends in Paris always tell me to just take the Roissy bus from the airport and I’ve always found it easy. It’s direct from CDG to the opera subway stop. Get your tickets from the machine in the airport beside the door to go to the bus stop. In general takes about an hr.

You’ll have a decent half day to see what you want. You’ll need to get back to the airport though. I’ve never had a miring flight so check the public transportation options.

Paris Airport make sure you are there three hours ahead of your flight. We got there thinking 2.5 hours would be fine and almost missed out flight because it's not a very well-managed airport.

Someone said to stay closer to the airport and I agree.

3:30pm arrival means you could get to the city at 430-5pm.

8:30am departure for international flight means you need to be at airport at 6:30am which means you have to leave your lodging by 5:30am which means you won’t get much sleep unless you go to bed at 8:30pm giving you only a few in the city.
