Good idea for saving money on duvet covers is the Coverless Duvet but do they wash well?
I've been considering switching to a coverless duvet as a way to save money on duvet covers. I'm curious about how well these duvet alternatives hold up, especially when it comes to washing. Does anyone have experience with coverless duvets? I'd love to hear your thoughts on the pros and cons. How easy are they to clean, and do they maintain their quality over time?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I have 6 of them. 4 singles 2 doubles. Singles are great, my kids have one each makes Washing bedding so much easier, the silent night ones come with pillows too I literally take it off shove it in the wash and then in the tumble and straight back on the bed.
Doubles are a nightmare only because they don't fit in the machine
I've had them years and washed weekly and had no issues at all still look new.

Yes they do wash well. But be mindful of a couple of things - they come in diff togs, bed sizes and material- if getting a fleece-y or teddy fluffy fabric in a 10.5 tog double bed size you may struggle to fit it in your washing machine or dry it afterwards.
As there's no duvet cover the actual duvet needs washing as often as you'd have changed a duvet cover.
I've now learned - as I don't have them on a bed but on a sofa - go for 4 or 7.5 tog, avoid 'fluffy' fabrics, go for single bed size and all is good.

I have a kingsize summer one from Jysk for £12!! I wash it weekly in my 8kg machine and it comes out nearly dry. It's awesome.
These are OK if you use a topsheet on your bed and treat them as a blanket then you don't need to wash as often.
I do this in winter with my normal duvet.

I love mine, I have a Night Owl one. King-size fits into my 10kg washing machine.
I hang it on an airer to dry and it's ready to go back on the bed mid afternoon if I wash it in the morning.
I suffer with shoulder and back pain, it makes changing the bedding easy compared to using a quilt and cover.

I have a king size night owl 4tog fits fine in washing machine in winter I just put a fleece teddy quilt over the top of it as if it was a duvet.
I’ve got double & single.
The single fits in my washing machine but the double doesn’t (I do have the world’s smallest washing machine). I’m not sure that I’d bother again, although I would if I could wash the double. It is handy being able to just chuck a quilt in the wash, so more hygienic, but not working with the double.
I’ve reverted to putting the double inside a cover.

Fit in the washing machine dry in a day ready to go back on.
