Anyone know how to keep spiders out?

Spiders are the worst thing I can imagine being in the same room with.

They are going to kill me off, honestly my arachnophobia is so bad I gag and nearly pass out with these large spiders in my house, especially if they are in my bedroom. If they freep onto my bed I don't sleep for nights after.

Had a fan on next to my bed and not seen a single one, they don't like vibrations so that may be a good thing to use whilst the weather is hot.

Unpopular opinion (maybe), but I chose to embrace them and let them in. They take care of flies and mosquitoes.

I use a plug in thing that lets off a noise you can’t hear but they can think it’s similar to the ones used in yards to keep away cats. Only get the odd big one but mostly tiny ones I can deal with. Big spiders I don’t like :!:

Leave them be. They're great for catching so many unpleasant little bugs that may be in your home. At worst you might spot Boris chilling on the wall but he'll be gone after a little bit, off to find his next meal.

I swear people gaslight themselves into believe spiders are great at catching flies just so they can lecture arachnophobes. If you have a nuisance fly there’s a good chance it will stay a nuisance fly until you swat it, regardless of the fact a spider has built a small web in a corner.

People speak about them as if they’re swinging through the air tackling the flies mid-flight like 8 legged avengers.

This is huge horny house spider month, they’re not looking for flies they’re looking for each other. Let us be scared.

Some of these comments.

Some people have genuine phobias that we can’t help, I want to keep them out and would try anything. My garden stones are full of them, and I’ve had some really huge ones in the bathroom that give me panic attacks.

I get some can stomach them but please people understand some people are absolutely petrified of them and just want them out.

Peppermint oil around windows and openings. And vaseline on any holes to prevent spiders, ants and woodlice as they can't get through it.

Anyone that says conkers: don't believe it!! I currently have a nesting spider in a pile of conkers

Only way to keep them out is to ensure doors/windows (even some air vents) closed, and peppermint spray around thè outside of frames (if you spray inside, they come in anyway...but spraying external frames discourages them from looking for a way in)

I can literally bring 3 or 4 of the buggers in with my line-dried washing, and watched one run inside through a small gap in my door seal

There seem to be alot more of them this year...my garden is absolutely full of webs and huge orb spiders!

I swear by dragon blood incense I burn it in Livingroom, bedrooms and hall and haven't had any spider's in there in about 3 years.
