Hi everyone! If it isn’t one cat it’s the other. My male cat who is neutered and around 5 years old is acting very strange. He is sitting in one spot for a very long duration of time in a peeing position in the litter box and outside of the litter box, in the kitchen. (Pictured below) and won’t move. Not even for treats.
He will growl super loudly when I try to move him. He is even trying to hide under the bed which he never does. Everything looks normal down there too..
Idk what it could be!

Vet, ASAP
The behavior is aligned with the symptoms of a urinary tract blockage and it will kill him if left untreated.
He is most likely growling when you try to pick him up because his bladder has been unable to empty since the blockage began meaning when you try pick him up, you’re pushing on a bladder that is full enough to literally POP but instead it backs up into his kidneys. Once the backing up part starts he will then be unable to get the toxins out that aren’t toxins when he can pee them out. In other words and again - VET ASAP LIKE NOW
Don't miss: We just neutered our 18 month old doodle – BUT..

UTI, blockage, crystals, constipation. My cats have acted like that for all of the above. Hopefully just a UTI but you want to get him seen sooner rather than later in case it is a blockage, males are more likely to get them.
My kitty boy had been doing this kind of thing about 2 months ago. I think it was a crystal. The vet put him on a special diet and (crossing my fingers) things look better.
I’m hoping you can find some prompt answers for your baby.

Sure, sounds like he has. Blockage. It can be deadly in male cats get to a vet asap. He’s in pain straining to go and can’t his bladder will burst.
I hope you’ve already been to the vet as others above has suggested. If not, you need to go right now. Urinary blockages cause more issues the longer they’re left untreated and can kill a cat in a matter of days.
Not something to wait out or see if it passes, because it wont.
Hope your kitty is OK.

Urinary problems are so common! Increase your cats water intake! Some vets even suggest electrolyte solutions (diluted of course) to help them! I had a kitten who was just all around unable to pee , it took some continuous help and a few very visits but it can be managed.
