I have my heart set in a butlers sink but have heard that they can crack and scratch easily!

I love mine, I find it really easy to keep clean and use Gumption when I do.

I also bought a rack that sits on the bottom of the sink to help protect it from glasses being dropped or pots. So far not a mark.

Absolutely love mine. I have a protective mat in the bottom just in case. But so far so good. I don’t treat it any different than I would a normal one.

I don’t love mine.

Easy to clean etc but you need to be careful putting your bowls and plates and glasses etc in it … we were having things chip etc as it’s ceramic things (for example) hitting a ceramic sink.

So now we have grates in the bottom of each sink which absorb the impact of a plate hitting it, for example, so no more breakages.

But the grates have to be pulled out and cleaned regularly…

Just make sure you buy fireclay. They come with a 15-25 year heat shock guarantee and get a grid for the bottom.

Highly recommend Turner Hastings fireclay. I use their inexpensive white silicon mat in one side when washing and leave the metal drop in grate in the other bowl - great for draining. Have Jif & Gumption but find the glossy surface usually only needs a quick going over with the hot soapy dishcloth after I've wiped the benchtops & microwave.

I love my butlers sink. I had it in the previous house also. I use gumption on mine if I get some.
Scratches….works a treat. Never had a crack.
