For those of you who have been to Disneyworld, what would you fit into your schedule if you had about 3 days?

I have a conference in Orlando next month and would like to visit Disneyworld and Universal while I’m there. For those of you who have been to Disneyworld, what would you fit into your schedule if you had about 3 days? Since I have been to Disneyland and CA isn’t far for me to visit, is Magic Kingdom worth skipping to save time?

Thanks in advance.

Former WDW cast member and Disneyland pass holder here. Since you can get to California easily I would skip Universal (visit in LA) and I would see Epcot and Animal Kingdom (unless you have to see Toy Story Land).

Epcot and Animal Kingdom are the most unique parks to Florida as most of the attractions in the other parks cross over to Disneyland or California Adventure. If you do end up going to Universal, you could do it in one day.

Honestly you could do Epcot and Animal Kingdom in one day as well if you planned appropriately and got to the parks early.

Don't miss: Booking to go to Disney Paris is 7 nights too long?

Ooohhh that’s A LOT for 3 days. I can’t say it’ll feel like an easy going nice trip, but if you really want to cram it all in to 3 days: you can do one day at Universal (as long as you get the 2 park pass that allows you to take the Hogwarts Express from park to park). It would be a really full day, but you could do it. You’d just have to decide which rides and experiences are most important to you. You’ll need to rope-drop Hagrids Motorbike Adventure if you want a chance at it, otherwise you’ll be wasting 2 hours of your day in line. If rides are important to you I’d get the Express Pass to get you to the front of the que

For Disney, get a 2 day park hopper if you want to try and do the other 3 parks besides MK. You can do Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studious in one day probably. You won’t see and do it all, but you’ll be able to hit the high points. Epcot takes longer to really explore, but you could spend most of a day there then go over to MK with your hopper for a few hours to see what’s different from Disneyland. If you can stay on property at Disney or Universal, that’s definitely ideal as traffic in Orlando can be awful. You’ll spend a lot of time in a car if you don’t. If you are on property, you get to get in the parks earlier, and if you are in a Deluxe resort, depending on the night, some parks stay open from 10-12pm for deluxe resort guests. Epcot has food and wine festival going on right now, so all through the park there are food booths set up with small bites from around the world. I just got home last night from my last Disney Trip.

Happy to answer any other questions you have about maximized your time there, just shoot me a message!

I have no opinion on Magic Kingdom (I've been to DL but it was almost 20 years ago), as I think it depends on what you like about Disney. But I do think Epcot is worth going to, especially as an adult.

I would try to fit hollywood studios and magic kingdom in one day. Ive provided the biggest highlight rides that are different/more fun than the ones at DL/DCA!

Magic Kingdom: big thunder mountain (they have at disneyland but it's more fun), 7 dwarves ride, tron, space mountain if you have time (this one feels more like matterhorn)

Hollywood Studios: Tower of Terror (a must), Slinky ride

You could also try to fit epcot and AK in one day as well, depending on what you ride. My favorite thing to do was going to Epcot after AK closed and eating the food from around the world.

AK: Na'vi rides (one of them gives me major motion sickness though), safari, mt everest, dinosaur ride (feels like a more boring indiana jones)

Epcot: test track, guardians, ratatouille, frozen

I heard universal orlando is more fun and has actual rides unlike the one in LA. I don't like universal LA but I think it could be worth it to visit the orlando location.

I would skip MK, the rides are similar as DL and they are far superior there. If you didn’t want to splurge on a park-hopper, i personally like Animal Kingdom better than Hollywood Studios. But all depends on your likes. If you are a big star-wars person you may appreciate HS more. Like Mindi mentioned they both could be done in half a day. But I can find enough to do in AK for a longer day.

Epcot is a full day and should not be missed, especially for Food and Wine festival. If you go at rope drop you can pretty much hit all the rides in the morning and with time to hit the food, drinks and countries in the afternoon. If you like rollercoasters, Do NOT miss Guardians of the Galaxy.

You can shoot for a virtual queue or pay for it. I always do both so I can ride twice. We were in Universal 2 Sundays ago, we stayed onsite so got a head start from non resort guests and we did almost everything by 12:30p at Islands of Adventure and that included sitting for breakfast, and that was without the express pass.

If you did the park-hopper with express you should be able to slam through both parks easy enough and reiterate what Mindi said, start at Islands and hit Hagrid’s first thing. Another coaster not to be missed!
