There are so many trails to hike. I’m looking for easy to moderate with spectacular views on lakes, waterfalls, etc. I’ll have 2 teenage girls and the husband. The girls and I can handle the moderate trails it’s the husband I’m worried about.

Just suggestions:

It's been awhile, but check and see if you can find a "trail head" hiking company. They drop you off uphill or in a more moderate area, and you have a few hours (time varies) to do the hike, and they pick you up further down. You are doing an easy stretch with no return uphill hiking. Sometimes you can even hire a guide. I used to have a friend that did this on the Appalachian Trail.

You could do it the first day and see how he handles everything, and go from there planning the other hikes.

Depending on when you are leaving, have him get his hiking shoes now and walk about an hour a day, and kick that up to two hours the second week.

Look through Alltrails. They’ll give you all the info on the trails plus people post pics of the trails. Then YouTube them and see if it’s something you want to do.

Also check for reservations, if you don’t have one I think you can get one the afternoon before.

I saw lots of cars getting turned away that didn’t have one.

Explore these too: I need hotel in a mountain location «in the eastern US» Any suggestions?

If you stay at the Y camp there - they offer guides, they have all the info and there is so much else to do -- craft store, etc. Look it out RMNP YMCA Highly recommend...

COTREX is Colorado official trails app. Although focused on state parks they do have rmp. Since it is official there are alerts and free. The ratings and maps are good.

You could probably use it with free trails app.

The walk around bear lake is simple. At bear lake th you can also hike to 3 lakes, starting with nymph lake. You can always turn around before getting to 3d lake.

You need reservations in summer/fall.
