I'm grappling with a persistent flea issue, both on my pets and within my home. It feels like I've exhausted a variety of remedies and treatments, but the problem persists. For those who have faced similar challenges: What solutions or products have you found most effective in combating fleas on your animals and ensuring your home remains flea-free?

I'm eager for recommendations that are safe for pets and effective in eradicating these pests, especially given the feeling that I've already tried numerous methods.

Indorex for the house, amazing stuff, have a Google as price differs quite drastically but it works for a year, I don't use anything else now for the house, get flea treatment from the vet as over the counter stuff doesn't seem to work.

Stay away from anything by Bob Martin as those products have killed pets and vets strongly advise against them.

I bought a tablet from the vets the dog eats and the fleas die , so far it’s working I am also flea combing every day!

I have just found this stuff on line you sprinkle in carpets it begins with d something earth and apparently dries them out, I have ordered it and await to see if it works!

Advantage for the pet, cheaper to buy online rather than vet.

same here .. I've tried everything and it seems the little blighters are immune to whatever I try. So, I went back to an old tried and trusted remedy...SALT ..mixed with warm water and wiped my cats fur with it daily ..sprinkled salt over carpets and everywhere I could then vacuumed a day later and repeated till clear of then. It works believe me.

Explore these too: What can I put on bun for fleas?

If you've an infestation I recommend you get kitted out at the vet. It'll be expensive, but it'll work. Buying off the shelf products is a false economy.

Years ago, my dog has fleas which spread into the house. He'd been treated with Front line. The vet said frontline hadn't changed their formula since it was 1st produced & fleas had become immuned to it. We bought advocate & treated the house with spray. We didn't have any more problems after that.

Also, check out: Is the medication enough or is there anything else I can do to prevent fleas? Spray? Collar?

Home - Indorex spray (spray everywhere, carpets/curtains, furniture, skirtings, hard floors); vacuum everywhere/everything at least once a day (empty outside immediately); wash throws & bedding at 60°c. Pets - Bravecto from vet them let pets go everywhere to act as flea traps.

After weeks of trying (and being bitten!) the Bravecto worked for me in days! Do not forget to treat cars etc , they will have carried on your clothes.

They reckon one on your pet = many in house!

Our dogs are on NexGard Spectra. They think they're having a treat. Easy to give. Get it from the vets. (I don't use a spot on as mine like going out in all weathers and like a swim and I don't know how effective it will be for them.) If you're in the UK, apparently fleas are so rife at the moment, and not cold enough to kill them from grass, etc.

Just a thought but dogs can also get lice and mites which can make them itch. If the itching persists, it might be worth a telephone call to your vet.
