Need a second opinion. Apologies for long winded post…

Twins born 37+1 both weighing close to 6 pounds each.

At 6 week appointment one weighed 8.9lbs and other 10lbs.

We were having reflux concerns.

Doctor asked how much babes were eating. 6oz every 3-4 hours, max 5 if sleeping well.

Babes would have 4/5 naps during the day with little to no assistance in crib and were sleeping 2.5-3 hour stretches at night. Babes were content minus reflux symptoms at the beginning of each feed.

Side note: burping frequently, waiting to lay down, Probiotic, sensitive formula and only feeding until babes was no longer actively eating or refusing bottle was the routine.

Doctor said to cut oz to 50%. Only 3oz no more every 2-3 hours. To reduce reflux from over eating and to shrink stomach size.

Babes appeared to be very hungry, rooting constantly, wouldn’t take soother, as mother could barley hold them, crying a lot, and now their sleep has been severely negatively affected. Routines are gone.

I’m second guessing the doctors opinion, but also second guessing every time I feed them. Reflux symptoms did decrease.

Suggestions?

It’s a good thing that you are seeing a doctor.

Kindly follow his advice as we do not give second opinions on doctor’s advice and recommendations.
