Hi Vets and Vet Techs, my puppy is a 10 week old purebred Labrador retriever, and she has always had a pink nose and pink around her eyes. Her eyes are droopy, even release discharge and her actual eyes are red and look really sore. Does anyone know what this could be?
Always had a pink nose and pink around her eyes!
Did the parents have BVA eye tests done prior to having their litter? Lots of genetic issues could be at play.
Take your dog to the vet ASAP. Eye stuff is never a “wait and see” situation.
Also get in touch with the breeder because it’s likely caused by either physical damage OR a genetic abnormality and you’ve only had her for what, two weeks?
Either the breeder knew about and didn’t tell you OR the parents weren’t fully vetted and tested prior to breeding.

Allergies? Do you use chemicals to clean with? I agree. You perhaps should be in touch with your vet if there discharge from the eyes.
This could be ectropion where the eyelids roll outwards causing chronic dry eye which can lead to other problems. If it is that, it’s genetic and may need surgery to correct when she’s bigger.
Also, allergies in a 10 week old puppy are exceptionally rare. Allergies are the immune system overreacting to normal stimuli and that this age the immune system hasn’t properly developed yet.
Don't miss: Kitty's eyes seem irritated, our first thought was allergies, what else could cause this?

Sounds like poor breeding. I would not go through this breeder again.
Some people purposely breed for this color and call it “champagne labs” or something made up . While adorable it is off standard and therefore frowned upon by reputable breeders. (The pink nose/green eyes etc).
Same with white, silver, and I believe red labs; they are off standard. And while with your particular “color” of lab, it may not directly lead to health issues, but it can show that the breeders intentions don’t lie with health and therefore genetic testing likely wasn’t done.

As far as droopy lower lids...it's a genetic issue and she got those from her parents bloodlines. Her pink nose is genetic too.
She actually looks like a dilute yellow lab and their noses aren't usually black.

I guess you didn't vet the "breeder" before you spent a lot of money buying that dog.
Unfortunately, looks like you're going to be spending a lot of money on it now and in the future.
