I have a 3 year old Vizsla, spayed at 18 months. Since the beginning of the year she has had a cloudy discharge on and off, she’s been to the vets and few times and they’ve given her antibiotics.
Other dogs seem to be very interested in her back end sometimes too.
Last week my vet wanted to investigate so did an ultrasound and a endoscopy but couldn’t find anything that could be causing it.
He said because it’s not constant and it’s not bothering her to monitor at the moment but the next step would be to open her up. She’s very well in herself, eats, drinks, is a healthy weight and would run all day if she could.
I’m just wondering if anyone has had experience of this? I’m worried there is something underlying.

Coming from vulva? I would check bloodwork and urine with possible culture if haven't already before jumping to surgery.
Not sure if it’s something and internal medicine vet could consult on for ideas.

It's probably a mild case of vaginitis, I have one girl that tends to have the same issue. It doesn't bother her. You could technically clean her with a rag when she is done using the bathroom but mine would not be super impressed with that idea.
Our girl is 8 and doesn't have any issues so as long as your vet has ruled out anything serious I wouldn't worry too much about it.
You can check also: Only 2.7kg: What can I do to help her gain some weight?

A culture from the discharge should be done if it hasn’t been and a urinalysis. If a female has an infection, they usually lick the area a lot.
As someone else said, an ultrasound should detect anything unusual, and I certainly would not open her up unless she went off food and got remarkably worse.
It may just be her.
