I have a super sweet bun that does not like to be held or even really touched that much. However she needs her nails clipped and I’ve tried a few times but she flails around like crazy and I’m so scared she is going to hurt herself. Please help me with ways to keep her still and safe so I can get these nails taken care of.

My spaz of a rabbit gets very calm for nail trimmings when I put her up on the island/countertop facing the edge and cover her with a little towel.

My bunny isn’t a fan of being held or getting a nail trim either.

I wrap him like a burrito in a towel and sit him on my lap on the floor.

I release one paw at a time to trim. If he is being extra anxious I cover his eyes with the towel while I’m cutting his nails and that keeps him calm for a few moments.

Also, check out: Do any of you have dogs and rabbits? Do you trust the dogs?

Try putting some fine sandpaper on the bridge of the castle, as she hops across it will gently wear the nails down.

Just make sure it is a fine grit paper.

If you can, take her to your vet, or a rescue. I take mine to the store where I got him and they do it for $5.00.

Have someone else hold her in a wrapped up blanket while you trim the nails.
