Next month my youngest baby turns 18.... we are flying from Phoenix to great falls, Montana.
Thinking of renting a car and driving into Canada to stay there for the weekend. She's obsessed with Canada! Has anyone done this? Any tips? Ideas? Advice?
We are going 11/3 - 11/6.

Re: Thinking of renting a car and driving into Canada
We don't have very many car rental places here so call and talk to them about your options. We do have many great things to see here, and lots of history.

Get up to Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper.

I have, but not in October/November. That time of year we start getting lots of snow in Montana, so It may or may not workout for you. It snowed here a few days ago.

Many rental companies won't allow cars to cross the border.
The closest real city in Canada is 3 hours from Great Falls. Calgary is 5. That's a pretty far drive if you only have 3 days. And November can go either way with weather and road conditions.
Great Falls is a neat area, I'd just explore around there.

Beside Banff, Jasper, and Lake Louise (which is a must), Whistler is a beautiful ski town too. But SNOW may be an issue.
