I just had these roller blinds installed today. This here is a picture window (so doesn't open) and I'm really dissapointed in how far out the blind is hanging. There's a huge gap on the sides (with right side gap being bigger) and I don't know what to do.
I'm not sure why it's bothering me so hard. Any advice?

They will flip it for you no problems. Easy to do yourself but do NOT as it will void warranty.
Did you get someone to come in house to measure and quote or did you give them your measurements?
You can turn blind around to make less gap between blind and window.
Best bet would’ve been to install on architrave so there’s no gap. I’ve worked I custom made curtains and blinds for 8 years.
Don't miss: Talk to me about the best options for window coverings/blinds for alfresco sliding doors?

Rolling the other way will help a bit but if you were after face fitted, which does away with this issue, get them to remake properly to the correct measurement.
You could have done a better job with off the shelf blinds from Spotlight etc than they have given you here.
Stand your ground.

Write to the company with a photo and tell them you are not happy with it. It’s not supposed to be hung that far out. I have these exact same blinds and mine sit flush with the wall.
What you’ve got is called a reverse roll (like the mullet style toilet paper) haha.
If you have a standard roll, so it rolls toward the window it will take away the gap but the roll will be visible.

You’ve got it front roll instead of back roll (or vice versa).
Did they ask you which option you preferred when you got quoted/ordered?
Ask whoever you ordered them through if they can reinstall them turned around to roll towards the window instead of towards the room.

It’s been installed badly. Unless they specifically told you it would be like that it should have been further into the frame so you had a clean finish. In my opinion flipping it would be ugly.
I installed the roller blinds in my house and the only windows/sliding doors I had to flip the blind on are louvers and the stacker doors.
Don’t be afraid to get the installer back out.
I am really sick of lazy workmanship.

I worked at a curtain & blind company for many years.
We always measured inside the window recess to see if there was enough room for the blind to sit in there neatly without protruding past. The tube itself in the blind is usually 45mm and you add on the roll of fabric - ideally you need 75mm of recess for the blind to fit neatly inside the recess. BUT if you recess fit a blind, you ALWAYS end up with a gap each side, even if you roll it back (which will help with privacy). The side that the chain is on will have a bigger gap because of the mechanism at the top that the chain feeds through.
They should have explained all of this and suggested face fitting onto the architrave. You could flip them and see how much gap there is. If you are not happy, have them replace them for you.
