Morning, my son is about to head off travelling for 6 months and I would like to buy him a few items to save him some expensive. Can I ask for recommendations please on best Flip Flops, Travel Pillow and Backpacks - although my research is leaning me towards the Osprey55L.

We got a pair of sandals from the brand TEVA which have been brilliant, can walk through water with them etc which is handy when visiting waterfalls/going on treks.

We’ve got the Osprey 40litre backpack & a eurohike 18litre which is working for us so far - we plan on travelling for a year and we feel like it’s fit enough in.

Don't miss: What has been the best travel pillows or something that you carried on that made it easier for you to sleep?

I second the people saying travel insurance! Lol and I would have been happy to get my vaccines/malaria meds paid for as well.

I live my teva sandals, I just scrolled on their website and picked one of the on sale styles (25% off, woohoo)

Quick dry towels are nice to have as a little gift idea.

For a backpack smaller is better, but I'm an over packer so I have a bigger bag that is not necessary  my sis has an osprey and I have a mountain equipment brand i think, both are good.

So many things! Here are some of the things I wouldn’t do without… Cosi Home Travel Pillow, Sleeping Bag Liner, Pac a Mac, Microfiber Towel, Foldable Rucksack, Walking Sandals (good brand), Portable Safe, Bum Bag to name a few!

Definitely an osprey bag, packing cubes have been amazing! Maybe some walking shoes instead of flip flops. There is so many cheap ones over here.

Travel pillow look for an inflatable one so he doesn't have to attach it to the outside of his bag.

Explore these too: I’m looking for some advice on backpacks

I think for sandals, you should get him tevas! I used mine everywhere I went. As for a backpack, make sure you are getting him one that can open all the way up, not just from the top.

That’s where I went wrong.

I’d definitely recommend Birkenstocks over flip flops. I lived in my Birkenstocks and only used a cheap pair of flip flops in some hostel showers.
