I've heard a lot about Koh Phi Phi, often celebrated as one of Thailand's most iconic island destinations. As with many renowned places, opinions can range from it being an absolute must-visit to views that it might be overhyped.

Given its popularity, I'm trying to gauge if it aligns with my travel preferences and if it's worth including in my itinerary.

For travelers who have experienced Koh Phi Phi firsthand or those familiar with Thailand's diverse island offerings: In your opinion, does Koh Phi Phi truly live up to its reputation? Are there specific highlights that set it apart, or potential downsides that travelers should be aware of?

Insights on the ambiance, activities, and overall experience would be incredibly valuable as I ponder my decision.

Kinda subjective and your experience can vary massively based on what you do there and where you stay. I think you have to go and experience it!

Definitely do a walk to the viewpoint, go watch some Thai boxing and do a trip to Maya bay.

It’s famous for the movie and is known for its notorious beach parties. Some love it some don’t. A couple nights and see what you think.

It does get repetitive but it’s fun; also depends on your perspective.

Social media I will admit has destroyed it.

Don't miss: What's the best route flying from the UK to Koh Phangan?

Its absolutely gorgeous but I would not stay any longer than about two days.

It's very tiny and the only thing to really do there is go on a nice boat tour of the surrounding islands where you can snorkel with the fish and see monkeys.

Did 3 nights with family a bit away from the main town.

Liked our time there, but can imagine it was much much nicer even 10years ago before the social media insanity...

it's a beautiful place to visit. Watch The Beach with Leo Di Caprio to see how it was used and you'll have a reference point.
